Superb. The warm, bright backlighting from behind, and on the collar and shoulders, contrasts beautifully with the cool, sky-blue wisps in the shadows of the hair and shoulder. Very effective inclusion of the negative fairly dark background space, of the paper, becoming the hair, with just a few loose strokes. The edges of both ears and cheeks, against the backlight, are blurred, forcing the eye back to the face area, where we are rewarded with clear definition of warm flesh tones, shadow, highlights and character. Lots of frank, easy assessment, appeal and interest to this piece.
